Great theory!! Seriously, this is one of the best ones I've read at the moment, perhaps because of the evidence.
And now, it seems pretty much obvious that it is a Djin....but as with everything, we just need to wait and see Very Happy

And wouldn't be at all surprised if that is what it turned out to be in the end, especially with all the other religious/mythological things they throw into this show Very Happy

So perhaps there are two - Locke saw the good one because he said what he saw was beautiful, and Eko saw the bad the one because that wasn't what he saw? I don't know, but maybe

This is an interesting idea. Djinn or djinni is actually the ancient Islamic term for what became known as a "genie."

I got the following from Wiki.

The word jinn means anything which has the "connotation of concealment, invisibility, seclusion and remoteness". Jinn were spirits of ancient peoples who were active at night and disappeared at dawn. They could become invisible and change shape into animals. Wink

Muslims believe jinns are real. In fact, the Prophet Muhammad was said to have been sent as a prophet to both "humanity and the jinn."

The jinn have communities much like human societies: they eat, marry, die, etc. They are invisible to humans, but they can see humans. Sometimes they accidentally or deliberately come into view or into contact with humans.
