THE HANSO FOUNDATION

What was supposed to be a brand new way of making the world a better place for our children, became corrupt and immoral. Workers going to jail every week, several clients losing their faith on THF and Alvar's dream starting to fall apart.

"Alvar Hanso's been hiding
he needs to do that, cause some of his workers want him dead
those workers had turned bad, and now they want to take control of the Hanso Foundation..."

The creator is now hiding from the creatures. His life's in great danger, but Alvar still has trustful people to take care of his foundation.


THE ISLAND

The Island has a natural eletro-magnetic field generated by the powerful magnet, that is now below the Swan Station. Alvar Hanso found the island years ago while looking for his grandfather Magnus (who crashed on the island while taking slaves to another continent) and he was the first man to leave the place. He found out that following a specific bearing was the only way out of it. He came back after some years to explore the island deeper, and decided to build there the Dharma Iniative (a subdivision of THF recently created by him and the DeGroots) new installations.

The Island doesn't exist in any map on the world, and its location is unknown, because people who found or got close to it were sucked by the eletro-magnetic force. Only a few wealthy and important people (like Mr. Paik) know about the island.

# The Bird and the Statue are remains from a civilization that used to inhabit the island.


THE OTHERS & DHARMA INITIATIVE

"The Others" are part of the Dharma Initiative who were designated for the Island Project. Most of Dharma people are very skilled scientists, but there are some psychics (Klugh/Bea). Military people are also allowed to join Dharma, but they are usually selected for the lowest ranks and not so important jobs (Kelvin Inman). Only the ones with the highest ranks are allowed to know about the projects (but not everything).

Dharma has contacts everywhere on the world, and one of them is Charles Widmore. Another one is the owner of Oceanic Airlines, who was paid thousands of dollars to send a plane full of passengers to the island. Some of these passengers were chosen for specific reasons to be on that flight.


FLIGHT 815

The flight 815 was not a normal flight. The pilot agreed with the plan of the owner of the company, and changed the flight's course in the middle of the Pacific. But when he was approaching the island, he realized what he was really about to do. Knowing the new intentions of the pilot, Cindy (the flight attendant) warned the Others via radio. After the crash the pilot was killed by the security system for betraying the Others.


KELVIN, DESMOND & THE CRASH

"Henry" sent a message to Kelvin on the Swan computer, telling him to get out of the station, taking Desmond with him. The plan was to let the magnet get strong enough to pull the plane toward the island. So Kelvin "took" Desmond to the other side of the island, so he'd never know about the crash. But Kelvin died accidentally, and when Desmond noticed the alarm, he went back to the Swan. It was too late.

But something went wrong and the plane broke into three pieces. The Security System of the island brought down the middle part. The tail landed on the water on the other side of the island, and the cockpit crashed into the jungle.


THE SECURITY SYSTEM

The Security System was created by the Others and it's made of a unknown mineral found only on the island. Due to its nature, it can't get too close to the magnet of the island, and that's the reason why it never goes near the Swan Station.

# it protects specific areas of the island, including the underground network of tunnels that link the Stations. That's why the Security System creators called it 'Cerberus'. There are two sets of tunnels, one for the Others and one for the Security System.

# The Security System is also able to scan people's minds.

hoping that he'd join the project
the secrets of the island are now locked somewhere in the depths of his mind, only waiting for the right moment"


RADZINSKI & THE FLAME

Someone on the Flame found out that he could use the computer to communicate and sent the Swan Station a message. Radzinski read it and probably asked where the guy was talking from and etc. So after knowing what the Flame occupants do, he decided it was better than pressing a button and left. But first he edited the Orientation video (the obvious thing to do after he found out that the computer could be used for communication. So he decided to cut that lie from the film) and drew on his map the new station - The Flame

Radzinski went first to the Arrow Station, leaving some of his stuff there. Then he went to the station that the person on the computer talked about.

The Flame Station is where the Security System controllers are located. After the former occupants left, Radzinski became its new controller.


HIM, THE HOSTILES & THE SICKNESS

Those are just part of the stories the Others tell, usually to scare people.

# though it's now part of the Boogeyman story, the sickness was real some years ago. It appeared because of the incident in 1980. It was apparently eliminated by the Security System.


THE BLACK ROCK

I believe there's another Black Rock on the island. Danielle said it had a transmission tower near and was guarded by the Others. But it sounded like she wanted the Losties to stay away from that place, especially when she said the Others came from the Rock.

Claire dreamed about the Black Rock and wrote that on her diary. For me, she seemed to be talking about a place, not a ship.


HURLEY & THE NUMBERS

The numbers have a special meaning for Alvar, and that's the reason why they are everywhere on the island. For some reason, he believes they are good and bring luck to him.

Hurley's bad luck has nothing to do with the numbers. It's like Sam's wife said, he's just trying to blame his misfortune on them. Maybe that bad luck thing is all inside his head, but if it's real, it's not caused by the numbers.


CHRISTIAN & SUSAN

Both had to fake their deaths because of Dharma.

"...Walt was doing things he wasn't supposed to do
the only option left for her was to send him to a special Dharma laboratory located on a island

so one day she faked her death and disappeared forever..." (Susan)

Disappointed with his own life, Christian decided to join Dharma, hoping to do something good. After his "death" he was sent to a medical station on a Island


THE FRENCH TEAM


"16 years ago, a French science team was looking for
eletro-magnetic phenomena around the globe...
...and ended up stuck on a island
but they were not the only people on that place

some days after the crash, the inhabitants of the island...
...injected the whole team with what they called a "vaccine"
it was supposed to save them from a sickness
but it didn't work and Danielle Rousseau...
...killed them, one by one
she had to do it, she wouldn't let her daughter get infected"


DANIELLE & ALEX

"on the other side of the island, Henry was carrying Alex to his "home"
there was some hope of saving her, he thought
but he was wrong, and the young girl died after a week"

"but someday he had an idea
Henry went to see Danielle, and made a deal with her "

Henry made a deal with Danielle. She'd help him and the Others, in order to be free on the island. Henry got caught on one of her traps and told her to go look for Sayid. The arrow shooting scene was also part of the plan, and the hint is when Danielle says she could have killed him if she wanted to. It was all to make sure Sayid would trust her.

"years had passsed, and another boat crashed on the island...
...Henry decided to take care of the girl, and she'd soon be a member of Dharma Initiative
she also needed a new identity, which was easy to get
from now on, she'd be known as Alexandra"


WALT & THE CHILDREN

The Others kidnap children because they are easier to manipulate, and they are educated to work for Dharma in the future.

Walt was taken for a different reason.

"Walt was doing things he wasn't supposed to do
the only option left for her was to send him to a special Dharma laboratory located on a island"

"there they would try to control Walt's powers before it was too late
the did tests and gave him injections, but it was all a complete disaster"


PENNY & CHARLES WIDMORE

Even though he contributes to Dharma Iniative and THF, Charles doesn't know about the island. One of his employees, Henry Gale from Minnesota, was very important to Widmore Labs. But one day, while traveling on his balloon, he disappeared in the middle of the Pacific. Charles searched the whole ocean for him, but the only thing he found was a small eletro-magnetic anomaly coming from what seemed to be an island.

When Desmond vanished, Penelope Widmore followed his traces and realized that he disappeared on the same place as Henry Gale. Hoping that Desmond was really on that island, hired some Brazilian scientists to look for it.

Some of you're theories are OK, not what I'd expect to happen in the show at all due to the fact that most of them are dismissive of things, and especially the fact that you're working under the premise that The Others are actually "Good Guys"... Anyone who says that "we're the good guys", are not, they are, under false pretenses the good guys, but there is no way they are, for more information on the topic of this, see a man named Hitler.

Alot of your stuff seems to be just saying "this is this" to cut down on things, or grouping things together... Ultimatly its the ultimate kids story, when a kid sits there and goes "i've invented megaultraman, he can do everything...", you're theory centres around this elaborate master plan of a faceless organisation, and you've got to think about what we see in the show, not what we see in the ARG, remember 90% of Lost fans don't follow the ARG, that is a side part for us geeks... The Hanzo foundation on top of it all wont have anything to do with the show realy, and not at least until Series.5.

Also, the bit about people faking their own deaths, the producers discretited that because they said that "in Lost, when people are dead, they stay dead". So, thats a no go kiddeo.

GREAT! I liked it all, except for the faked deaths of Christian and Susan, I don't think that there would be a good reason for either of them to do it, and also that they discredited that. But all in all, I like it.

im glad i found this site only because i realise i am not alone in obsessing about lost. so its nice to find a sort of complete theory so far to the plot. although i am looking for a reason or conclusion that makes sense. what do you think? whats it all about?

nice theories. i like the part about the smoke being a security system to protect against the sickness, maybe thats why the pilot was kill (since he was out there for days) and why eko and locke were not.
