I think we're going to see him, whether it be a he or she, by the seasons end.
Considerin all this build up and nonsense surrounding it I am also going to go on recoerd now so you can steal it and call it your later, and say I am sure its someone we've already seen.
What do i have to support my theory?
Simple logic. It'd be a better swerve and more interesting plot point to the show if it turns out the guy they look for has been hiding in plain sight all along with the castaways.
I do have 3 people i think it might be and one wont be back til season 4 so that might be only 2 depend what happens between now and the season end. |

I don't think Jacob is dead. After all, Ben (while still Henry) mentioned that "he" was going to kill him for failing his mission. How can "he" kill him if "he" is dead? |

I agree with your logic, mrpogo, except regarding the time frame. Now we know the network has signed on the cast for another 3 seasons I think they will hint at many but keep the secret till last season. I agree with Dale and others that Jack could be the one, but suspect Cindy will also have key role.

if 'him' does turn out to be jack then TPTB have made a huge feck up. if, as they say, they had the whole thing planned out then jack can't be 'him' as they had jack down as being killed off in the pilot.
now i know they changed their minds about this but if they completely re-wrote who the main baddie (or goodie depending on your viewpoint) is then they haven't got it anywhere near as well planned out as we think.
personally i think 'him' will be someone we have yet to meet on the island. however it could be the guy who was with ethan and recruited juliette perhaps.

Yo Dale-would you believe I never saw one epi of Twin Peaks? I read a lot about, and am a big fan of David Lynch, and just remembered Locke’s dad’s last name was also Cooper. Any relation?
adam_n_eve-remember that Ben (Emerson) just signed on for a short gig also, and the claim the season would just go 5 seasons. Seems pretty clear to me they ARE merely tap dancing with the plot, which seems inevitable given all the unknowns involved in a production like Lost. I think for sure a ‘twin’ is in the shows future, given how major a theme it was in the ARG, from mirror twins to numbers and realities. Watch out for Dale though-he may really be Windom Earle’s evil twin. |

They didn't decide that Jack wasn't going to be killed off in the last minute. And at the time they made that decision, they only had some few things planned/written, so I don't see how the fact that Matthew Fox's character was once supposed to die has anything to do with Jack being "Him" or not.
I don't believe he is "Him", or Jacob (if those aren't the same), but I can't see how Jack being supposed to die changes anything in LOST. They didn't start making the decisions and writing the story before deciding that Jack would stay in the show.

Agreed, because I don't think the identity of 'HIM" is the END of the story...so I through the Jack/Jocob thing out...and if that's not it....I'll 'Go Fish'
