|
|
What mystery could it be? Let the debates begin! From this week's Ask Ausiello:
Question: I have a really fun assignment for you, Aus. Create a chart listing every Lost alum there ever was, and then next to their names, tell us where things stand in terms of them returning for the final season. I just know how much you love to make lists. —Steven
Ausiello: I have a better idea: Let’s scrap the chart and forget we ever had this conversation. In return, I’ll share this Lost nugget with you: I hear Team Darlton will give us the answer to one of Lost’s oldest and most confounding mysteries. And I’m pretty sure it’s an answer none of us expected to get.

ahh
The confusion of semantics:
does he mean a surprising answer to an old mystery or
an old mystery we never expected to be answered?
I would think it's one we didn't expect to be explained......
which could be more info on the numbers.
Remember the voice repeating the numbers?
Some thought it was Jorge's voice. |

The pallet food drop.
Libby's reason for being at Santa Rosa (even though they constantly deny this)
The whispers.
Why Jack woke up in the jungle and everyone else was on the beach.
Smoke monster.
The original source of the numbers (Hurley got them from Sam, Sam got them from over the radio...so where did they come from originally?)
These are some of the oldest mysteries I can think of. _________________

Not important enough for this season. unlikely.
| jam6i wrote: | | Libby's reason for being at Santa Rosa (even though they constantly deny this) |
Libby's actress wont return, not likely.
| jam6i wrote: | | The whispers. |
Was supposedly explained in 5-12 by Ben telling Daniell if she hears whispers to run the other way, the whispers are probably the others. It doesn't make sense, but its what we got.

I think this will only be answered in the final episode of the series.
It probably plays directly into the ending.

We have confirmation that these things will be answered in series finale: smokie and origins of the statue
The original source of the numbers (Hurley got them from Sam, Sam got them from over the radio...so where did they come from originally?)[/quote]
In chronological order of time: Hurley sees numbers in 77 and they are the hatch door serial number. They were then incorporated into the computer in the Swan for an unknown reason. Then they were broadcast on the island for an unknown reason. Sam Tooney heard the broadcast, who passed it on to Hurley in the mental institution, who used them for the lottery, which brought him to the island eventually, and you know the rest...

I looked at all my possibilities of what the mystery could be, and I think that...
Jack waking up in the jungle when everyone else ended up on the beach is the mystery to be answered. _________________

On the contrary. Info on Valenzetti Equation was stated in an interview with Darlton (back in 2007) to be considered as canon. Link
I don't really care so much about the origin of the 4-toed statue, but would be very glad if they decided to give answers on Smokie. _________________

how about the combs? in season 1 or 2 , i dont remember, claire was looking for a hairbrush and couldn't find one. she made a point of saying how strange it was that she couldn't find any combs in any of the luggage. not saying anyone cares about that but it could fit the criteria. _________________ the last gunslinger |

How about...
What is the source of the whispers?
Who were "Adam and Eve"? (I suspect Rose and Bernard).
Why is Christian (or at least, the image of him) tied so strongly to the Island? _________________ Yeah, I REALLY hope you're happy, Jacob!!!

| I have a feeling it's why Jack woke up in the middle of the forest while everyone else is on the beach. Or, looking at the posts, I agree with Jami |

What I don't get , and am surprised that no one brought this up yet, is when/how Darlton is going to answer this mystery? Does Ausiello mean that they will answer a mystery in the show? Because that's not much a spoiler.... And if he does mean that Darlton will answer a mystery outside of the show, when will it happen?
